The shocking spree unfolded in the city of Mannheim where anti-Islamist campaigner Michael Stuerzenberger was speaking at an event of the Citizens' Movement Pax Europa (BPE) - a group that advocates against the 'Islamisation' of Europe. Chaos broke out at the event when a man dressed in a dark hooded jacket and tracksuit tackled a victim - believed to be Stuerzenberger - to the ground and began violently swinging a large blade at him, prompting terrified screams from onlookers. Other BPE members sprinted over and tried to drag the knifeman away, but the would-be killer wriggled free and dove on top of the bloodied victim to plunge the weapon in for a second time. Police descended on the scene almost immediately - but not before the attacker had left two people lying on the floor, blood pooling on the cobblestones. One officer waded in and tried to stem the flow of blood from one of the victims, but the bloodthirsty aggressor circled behind him and rammed his blade into the policeman's neck.

Mr Dale claimed he 'instantly recognised' the problem posed by his statement, adding that he could not be sure he hadn't said 'something else' that would be damaging.

The clinic claims the patients have had a combination of facial surgeries from face lifts to rhinoplasties, also known as nose jobs. Derby residents are in despair at living in a 'rundown dump' named Britain's worst city to visit, which is now a 'ghost town' plagued by yobs and antisocial behaviour. The unwanted title was given to Derby after a poll of nearly 4,000 people about their experiences of visiting UK cities in the last two years by consumer group Which? It got just two stars for food and drink, accommodation, cultural sights and tourist attractions, shopping and ease of getting around - coming 62nd out of 62 cities. Derby had a score of 56 per cent, below the next five worst towns and cities of Fort William, Torquay, Bournemouth, Swansea and Leicester, which all got 58 per cent. Now, locals have revealed what it is really like living there - with many agreeing the 'neglected' city is worthy of the label amid a scourge of loutish behaviour. Residents and business owners say the once-thriving city is now full of boarded-up empty units and there's little on offer in terms of leisure and entertainment. Derby Council has however hit back, criticising the poll and saying the city is packed with interesting museums, parks hosting major cultural events and 'restaurants galore' - including the Michelin starred Darley's and more than 200 real ale pubs.

Producers have revealed they also 'interrogate' the motivations of would-be contestants to make sure they are not just taking part for the £20,000 prize money or to boost their social media following. The show's line producer Maria Kennedy told The Telegraph : 'They are not normal TV contestants, and they wouldn't apply for anything else.' Producers aim to select people who enjoy the freedom to adventure, but insist they don't step in to help - no matter how bizarre the contestant's decisions are. Once selected for the series, contestants appear as teams of two and compete against four other teams to race across a section of the world using only the budget of a one-way plane ticket. Since launching on BBC2 in 2019 the show has been a big hit, with viewers still gripped as the winners of the fourth series were crowned during Wednesday night's episode (pictured).

The Cannes red carpet security guard who was filmed clashing with Kelly Rowland and other attendees is being sued by a Ukrainian model, who claims she was 'brutally' restrained by the official. Sawa Pontyjska says she has filed a legal complaint against organisers of The Cannes Film Festival because of the alleged assault, reports BBC News.

In an interview for Tatler's July edition, the youngster, formally, known as the Hon Edmund Spencer, told all of his tear away life as a student DJ. 'I'm so different, it's crazy,' he said. Meanwhile rejecting ties to his privilege, the 20-year-old nephew of Princess Diana , has launched a surprisingly successful career in DJing while studying as a student at Oxford Brookes University.

A savvy globetrotter has shared her ingenious way of exploring the world for less than the cost of a train ticket in the UK. Natalie Barrett, 41, from Leeds, longed to break free from her mundane Monday to Friday routine, and would regularly spend hours trawling the internet to source the best deals for a few nights abroad. But, with the average trip costing around £1,000 per person, as well as needing to take a large amount of annual leave at work each time, the process became more draining for Barrett than enjoyable. However, the digital platform manager has now mastered the art of budget-friendly trips, allowing her to visit nine countries in just five months - and it only cost her £800. In total, Barrett has managed to visit Switzerland, Spain , Albania, Denmark, Sweden , North Macedonia, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in less than a year.

Jennifer Lopez's reunion with her husband Ben Affleck came to an abrupt end shortly after they departed his daughter's high school graduation party at his ex-wife Jennifer Garner's house on Thursday. Annabelle Jenkins gave West Ada Superintendent Derek Bub a graphic novel adaptation of 'The Handmaid's Tale' during the Idaho Fine Arts Academy commencement on May 23. The book is one of 10 books the West Ada School District removed from shelves in December. Jenkins posted a TikTok , that has since garnered millions of views, showing the moment she defiantly handed Bub the book. 'I just realized that I did not want to walk across that stage and get my diploma and shake the superintendent's hand. I just did not want to do that,' Jenkins said.

Ruby Davies, from Llanelli, melted the hearts of those watching as she was interviewed by Welsh presenter Mari Lovgreen after her victory. Urdd Eisteddfod is a cultural festival that sees many children and young people from the ages of eight to 25 compete in the sectors of music, arts and literature. The 11-year-old won the individual recitation competition for Year 5 and 6 Welsh learners, where she had to memorise a monologue in the language and perform it onstage. She beat out 18 others who reached the national level in the competition and impressed the judges with her creative flair.
