Washington groups supporting underserved communities, youth, veterans, or other people facing barriers to outdoor access can request free annual Discover Passes through the Everyone Outdoors Program. Requests are reviewed and fulfilled monthly on a first come, first served basis.
The Department of Fish and Wildlife invites you to attend a virtual meeting on Aug. 28 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be a brief presentation of the state’s comprehensive plan to conserve its fish and wildlife habitats followed by time for questions.
Washington state will send a statue of the Nisqually activist and humanitarian to the National Statuary Hall in 2025. This project is the result of legislation that was passed in 2021 to replace the statue of Marcus Whitman with one of Billy Frank Jr.
